The
Flatcoated Retriever Association (Society) is the national breed society,
approved by the Raad van Beheer promoting the interests of the Flatcoated
Retriever in The Netherlands.
Its aim is
to maintain the standard and to improve where possible this breed of gundog in
a responsible way.
The
Flatcoat is a clever, active gundog with an intelligent expression. It is a
friendly, selfconfident dog that is forever wagging its tail. This easy going
gundog is a funloving dog which seems never to grow up because of its naughty
sense of humor. It loves water and anything it resembles (dirty ditches, mud pools, etc.). The
Flatcoat needs to occupy its mind and therefore loves to fetch and carry
objects.
